This device measures the amount of drag that a model boat hull creates while riding in a stream of water. The device sits in a wall between two tanks of water. The cable [A] is pulled by the boat moving a nylon bar [B]. A magnet [C] imbedded in the bar moves over an electronic Hall sensor positioned under the bar. This measurement is then displayed on a large LED bargraph [D]. Viewable is also the electronics and the enclosure [E].
The exhibit was designed by David Bubier.
